The Ribbon Girl July Colour Challenge

Hello everyone! How's your summer going? I hope you're all well and enjoying your summer!
What comes to mind when you think of summer? BBQ, the beach, fireworks, parties, yukata, watermelons, ice cream, and all that good stuff you look forward to!:)

Well, I'm here with my DT card for this month's Colour Challenge on The Ribbon Girl. Our colour theme this month is one of my favourite colour combos .. 'Blue and White'.

I have made a summery card using Dangling Sea Edwin from Magnolia Bon Voyage Collection,  i love this cute image! I have coloured with Distress Ink Pads and Distress Markers.

I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge. We have lots of inspiration from the DT on the blog and a great pic to get you started, and these are the wonderful prizes you could win.

A £10 voucher from Lili Of The Valley.

A £10 voucher from Ribbon Girl.

I used Beaded Stamen White/White, Starburst Stamen White, White Seam Binding, Lily Flowers White, Tulip Flower White, 16mm White Lace & Pearl Trim, 'Elizabeth' White Flower Fine Cluny Lace, Cheesecloth(which I've coloured with Distress inks), 40mm Daisy White Mulberry all from The Ribbon Girl. (all links at the bottom of this post).

The vintage map stamp from Magnolia new collection 'Sea Breeze'. The papers are from Maja Design - Life by the Sea 6×6 paper pad, so pretty!

I created a cloud background on my cards using Copic airbrush system. It's quick and easy technique. If you have a cloud die cut (or scallop die cut) you can use that as template. (I used Fiskars cloud squeeze punch.) Place the mask on the image. Holding the die cut on your paper and airbrush (or blending tool / sponge) around the cloud edges, continue by moving it around and repeating. Super simple! I hope you will try this technique:)

Please head on over to The Ribbon Girl to check out the rest of the DT projects .. as always they are simply gorgeous! and For more details go across to the Ribbon Girl Blog HERE!

The Doll's Festival - HINAMATSURI

Hi friends, Happy Friday! We have the Hinamatsuri(the Doll’s Festival )on 3rd of March in Japan. It’s also known as the Girl’s festival. It’s the traditional Japanese festival held to wish girls both good health and growth. Most families that have girls celebrate by displaying a set of beautifully dressed dolls.

Today I'd like to show you a card I made with this darling image Magnolia's Japanese Tilda. I've also used Washi (Traditional Japanese papers) and Mizuhiki. Mizuhiki is decorative Japanese cord made from twisted paper and silk.

I have coloured the gorgeous image with Distress Markers & Distress ink pads and added stickles to flowers.

These flowers and leafs are die cut using Magnolia's DooHickey's Dies and Die-namics Dies.
